Flashing Tape (Lead, Bitumen)
Replaces the need for more expensive lead flashing
Available in convenient rolls of required width that are easy to store and use
Quick and easy application
Cost effective method of sealing, flashing and repair
A strong self-adhesive bitumous sealing strip, which provides an instant bond to provide a permanent watertight seal.
The flashing tape is laminated with lead affect material, which is flexible to apply and is positioned into place by hand.
Application
- The flashing tape bonds to most surfaces including concrete, wood, slates, brick, metal, glass, plastic, roofing felt and roof tiles.
- It can be used to repair lead flashing, sealing roof ridges, flashing of skylights, sealing leaks in drain pipes and guttering, flashing bitumous felt, protecting pipe and tank insulations, repairing green houses and generally can be applied in a large number of construction and maintenance situations.
- Cut a section of the flashing tape to length, removing the release liner before placing the tape into position. Use a seam roller to ensure all edges and overlaps are firmly sealed. When overlapping allow a minimum of 25mm. Do not use in temperatures below 5°C and if below 15°C application will be easier by storing the flashing tape in a warm environment prior to use.
Surface preparation
All surfaces must be dry, clean and free from grease, dust, oil, loose materials and water. If used on concrete or other porous surfaces then a suitable primer should be used.
